We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant in Baltimore, Maryland. This Contract to permanent position offers an opportunity to lead accounting operations, supervise staff, and contribute to the financial management of the organization. The role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with strong leadership and technical accounting expertise. Responsibilities:• Supervise and guide accounting and administrative staff by assigning, reviewing, and evaluating their work.• Oversee the preparation of financial reports, payroll records, and statistical data to ensure accuracy and compliance.• Develop and manage the agency’s budget by compiling data, recommending expenditures, and monitoring financial activities.• Establish and update accounting procedures and forms to improve operational efficiency.• Conduct cost analyses and prepare detailed statistical and financial reports for senior management.• Train new team members in accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.• Monitor and control accounting forms and related documentation from various departments.• Interpret and apply relevant laws, regulations, and standards to maintain compliance.• Perform additional duties as required to support the financial operations.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited institution. • A minimum of five years of accounting experience with attention to detail. • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and auditing practices. • Proficiency in performing month-end close activities, including general ledger management and journal entries. • Experience with account and bank reconciliations. • Familiarity with grant accounting, management, and reporting. • Proven ability to compile and manage budgets effectively. • Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage and develop a team.
