Legal Assistant
We are looking for a skilled Legal Assistant to contribute to a dynamic legal team in Baltimore, Maryland. This is a long-term contract opportunity that requires an organized and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in legal support. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Prepare and file legal documents electronically, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court requirements.<br>• Manage litigation calendars, scheduling hearings, deadlines, and appointments efficiently.<br>• Assist attorneys in civil litigation cases, providing comprehensive administrative and legal support.<br>• Coordinate court filings, including criminal defense and personal injury plaintiff matters.<br>• Conduct research and gather information to support case preparation and strategy.<br>• Maintain and organize client files and legal records for easy access and reference.<br>• Communicate effectively with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel as needed.<br>• Provide support during trial preparation, including assembling exhibits and coordinating logistics.<br>• Monitor deadlines and ensure timely submission of all required documents.<br>• Collaborate with team members to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar legal support role.<br>• Proficiency in e-Filing and familiarity with court systems and procedures.<br>• Strong understanding of civil litigation and criminal defense processes.<br>• Experience with calendar management, including scheduling and tracking deadlines.<br>• Knowledge of personal injury plaintiff cases and related legal documentation.<br>• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.<br>• Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.<br>• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective client and team interactions.
