Our client, a growing NP in Arlington, VA is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their accounting team. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining financial accuracy and compliance across multiple entities, general ledger, month end close, supporting essential accounting operations, and contributing to process improvements. Responsibilities:• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.• Prepare and reconcile key general ledger accounts, including cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals, intercompany transactions, and restricted funds.• Post journal entries while maintaining thorough documentation for audit and compliance purposes.• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and daily banking activities.• Utilize NetSuite for accounting transactions, reconciliations, and generating financial reports.• Identify and implement improvements to NetSuite workflows and strengthen internal financial controls.• Coordinate audit preparation activities, including creating schedules and gathering required documentation.• Produce detailed monthly and quarterly financial reports and assist in variance analyses.• Support initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and streamlining accounting processes.• Collaborate with the Assistant Controller on special projects and organizational priorities. The ideal candidate for this Senior Accountant role will have a BS in Accounting, 3+ years of hands-on non-profit accounting (including some international transactions) and NetSuite accounting software. This position is a minimum of 2 days/week in the office, full benefits and comp range of 90-100K + bonus. • At least 3 years of accounting experience, with a strong emphasis on financial reporting and reconciliations.• Proficiency in NetSuite and familiarity with its functionalities for accounting and reporting purposes.• Solid background in nonprofit and grant accounting practices.• Experience managing multi-entity and international transactions, including intercompany reconciliations.• Demonstrated ability to prepare audit schedules and provide audit support.• Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail to ensure financial accuracy.• Proven ability to work effectively across diverse cultures and time zones.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required; advanced qualifications are highly preferred.
