Bookkeeper
We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The ideal candidate will manage and oversee financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.<br>• Prepare financial statements and reports for monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, including journal entries and account adjustments.<br>• Maintain and update fixed asset schedules, including depreciation calculations.<br>• Process payroll, manage payment schedules for payroll liabilities, and prepare and file required payroll reports.<br>• Generate and distribute 1099 forms in compliance with reporting requirements.<br>• File gross receipts tax and ensure timely submissions.<br>• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently.<br>• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies in all financial processes.
<p>• Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles, ideally within a detail-oriented accounting firm.</p><p>• Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and procedures.</p><p>• Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software.</p><p>• Strong ability to prioritize, organize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.</p><p>• High level of confidentiality when handling company and client financial information.</p><p>• Familiarity with GAAP accounting standards and practices.</p><p>• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred <strong>but not required.</strong></p>
