- We are looking for an Accountant to join a finance team in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This position supports core accounting operations while contributing to reporting, budgeting, and broader financial planning efforts. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical judgment, a hands-on approach to day-to-day accounting, and an interest in using technology, including AI, to strengthen finance processes and decision-making.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Support recurring accounting activities across daily operations and month-end close to help maintain accurate and timely financial records.<br>• Prepare components of monthly and year-end financial reports, ensuring data is organized, complete, and aligned with reporting requirements.<br>• Collaborate with the Controller and department leadership to advance financial priorities and execute strategic initiatives.<br>• Contribute to the annual budgeting process by compiling information, analyzing figures, and assisting with budget preparation.<br>• Oversee grant-related financial tracking and create required reports and billing documentation for funding sources and business partners.<br>• Participate in annual audit preparation and coordinate supporting schedules, reconciliations, and requested documentation.<br>• Reconcile account balances and review transactions to ensure proper classification within the general ledger.<br>• Process and support key accounting functions such as journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.<br>• Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency through critical thinking, process refinement, and the practical use of AI tools.<br>• Perform additional accounting and finance-related duties as needed to support the department.
