Credit Clerk
<p>We are looking for a Credit Clerk in the Middlesex County, NJ area. In this role you will be responsible for AR, posting payments, purchase orders, requesting statements from vendors, and more. If you have 2+ years of experience in a credit operations or accounts receivable role and are proficient with excel, this might be the opportunity for you. </p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Process incoming customer payments, including cash, checks, and electronic transfers, ensuring efficient and accurate recording.</p><p>• Perform account reconciliation by verifying invoices, payments, and financial data to maintain accuracy and address discrepancies.</p><p>• Handle light collections by following up on overdue payments and managing outstanding balances.</p><p>• Generate and maintain reports such as accounts receivable aging and customer account summaries to provide actionable insights.</p><p>• Post transactions to customer accounts and maintain accurate financial records.</p><p>• Prepare and mail customer statements, ensuring timely communication of account details.</p><p>• Match bills of lading to freight invoices and purchase orders to vendor bills, ensuring proper documentation.</p><p>• Maintain organized credit files to support credit decisions and compliance requirements.</p>
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable or credit operations.<br>• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and basic arithmetic operations.<br>• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with customers and internal teams.<br>• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.<br>• Customer service-oriented mindset to build and maintain positive relationships.<br>• Familiarity with payment processing, account reconciliation, and financial reporting.<br>• Ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives.<br>• Previous experience in a credit department or similar role is preferred.
