<p>A local Manufacturer in the Hermitage PA area is looking for a purchasing specialist/ buyer. You are responsible for developing and executing purchasing, negotiating deals, and managing vendors. They collaborate with stakeholders, track inventory levels, and ensure clear documentation. Their role involves analyzing costs and determining optimal delivery quantities and timings.</p><p>You should have strong negotiation and organizational skills, and analytical abilities. They should be familiar with sourcing and vendor management, possess business sense and be proficient in gathering and analyzing data. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for applying the procurement process, sourcing suppliers, and managing vendor relationships to ensure a seamless supply chain and optimize costs. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, and implement best practices within our procurement function.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Requirements</strong>: The successful candidate should have a college degree, previous experience in a manufacturing environment, experience with steel materials and specifications. Proficiency with Excel, building and creating reports for the position and business, can successfully improve operations and cost initiatives. Experience with MRP and ERP systems.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Objectives </strong></p><p>·      Identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to ethical and sustainability standards.</p><p>·      Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing, payment terms and mutually beneficial agreements.</p><p>·      Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and align procurement activities with organizational goals.</p><p>·      Conducting market research and analysis to stay updated on industry trends, supplier capabilities and pricing fluctuations.</p><p>·      Managing supplier relationships, issue resolution and fostering long-term partnerships.</p><p>·      Monitoring inventory levels, analyzing demand patterns and implementing inventory management strategies to manage stock levels and avoid shortages or excesses. </p>

<p><strong>Your tasks</strong></p><p>     Source and negotiate with potential suppliers, assess their capabilities, and evaluate their suitability based on predefined criteria.</p><p>·      Manage supplier relationships, including regular communication, performance evaluations and issue resolution.</p><p>·      Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and develop procurement plans accordingly.</p><p>·      Analyze inventory levels, demand forecasts and consumption patterns to optimize stock levels and reduce carrying costs.</p><p>·      Continuously evaluate and improve procurement practices, including identifying cost-saving opportunities and process enhancements.</p><p>·      Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, performance metrics and cost savings to higher management.</p><p>·      Develop and maintain procurement metrics to track performance, identify areas for improvement and report on sourcing effectiveness.</p><p>·     Stay up-to-date on regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to sourcing activities.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Required skills and qualifications.</strong></p><p>•Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration or a related field.</p><p>•In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, and best practices.</p><p>•Demonstrable experience in the Indian market and familiarity with local suppliers and sourcing channels.</p><p>•Experience in implementing sustainable and socially responsible procurement practices.</p><p>•Strong skills in budgeting, cost optimization and negotiation techniques.</p><p>•Knowledge of vendor management and inventory management systems.</p><p>•An analytical mind with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</p><p>•Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.</p><p>•Proficiency in using procurement software and systems.</p><p>•Knowledge of local and national laws and regulations related to procurement.</p><p>•Willingness to work in a fast-paced and competitive environment.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Preferred skills and qualifications</strong></p><p>•Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.</p><p>•Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.</p><p>•Experience with global sourcing, logistics and supply chain best practices.</p>
