Staff Accountant

Your primary responsibilities will include:</p><ul><li><strong>Fixed Assets:</strong> Track fixed assets and maintain accurate schedules to support reporting processes.</li><li><strong>Budget Preparation:</strong> Collaborate with departmental leaders to prepare, review, and analyze budgets, as well as selected general ledger accounts.</li><li><strong>Accounts Payable/Receivable (AP/AR):</strong> Complete data entry and processing of accounts payable and receivable while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.</li><li><strong>Financial Analysis:</strong> Analyze balance sheet accounts, income statements, and perform variance analyses on unexpected cost discrepancies.</li><li><strong>Cost Accounting Records:</strong> Prepare and maintain cost accounting details related to purchasing to support project and operational goals.</li><li><strong>Audit & Closing Processes:</strong> Assist in monthly and year-end closings, as well as external audit operations.</li><li><strong>Project Cost Analysis:</strong> Compute project costs, compare actual vs. estimated costs, and analyze variances to ensure profitability.</li><li><strong>Invoice Payments:</strong> Verify, code, and process invoices, ensuring charges are allocated to the correct accounts. Manage weekly check runs and employee expense reimbursements.</li><li><strong>ERP Management:</strong> Enter and manage data in the enterprise resource planning system (ERP) while monitoring credit holds and working across departments to release orders on time.</li><li><strong>Other Duties:</strong> Contribute to other accounting responsibilities and special projects as assigned.</li></ul><p><br></p>
<p><strong>The Ideal Candidate</strong></p><p>We are looking for a candidate who:</p><ul><li>Has strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.</li><li>Is fluent in both general accounting practices and cost accounting.</li><li>Can leverage accounting software and enterprise resource planning systems efficiently.</li><li>Thrives as both an individual contributor and a collaborative team player.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</li><li>Proficiency in general ledger accounting, budgeting, and financial statement analysis.</li><li>Familiarity with ERP systems and intermediate to advanced Excel skills preferred.</li><li>Prior experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and/or cost accounting is a plus.</li></ul><p><br></p>
