Senior Accountant
<p>We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Verona, Virginia. This role focuses on managing financial operations, including month-end close processes, budget analysis, and oversight of multiple cost centers. You will play a vital role in ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with government grants, and preparing monthly billing based on expenses.</p><p><br></p><p>Senior Accountant Responsibilities:</p><p>• Perform month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.</p><p>• Analyze actual results against budget forecasts across multiple cost centers.</p><p>• Assist in completing the annual budget process and provide insights into financial planning.</p><p>• Manage the preparation and submission of monthly billing based on expenses incurred by individual cost centers.</p><p>• Ensure compliance with government grant requirements and reporting standards.</p><p>• Reconcile general ledger accounts and perform journal entries as needed.</p><p>• Conduct bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial transactions.</p><p>• Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to support ongoing financial operations.</p><p>• Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records and processes.</p><p>• Provide detailed financial analysis and reporting to support organizational decision-making.</p>
• Proven experience in month-end close processes and financial reporting.<br>• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entries.<br>• Expertise in account reconciliation and bank reconciliations.<br>• Familiarity with budget analysis and cost center management.<br>• Experience in handling government grants and associated compliance requirements.<br>• Proficiency in preparing monthly billing based on expense tracking.<br>• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.<br>• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
