We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Tumwater, Washington. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a government organization by managing critical accounting functions. The role will primarily focus on reconciliation tasks, tax preparation, and maintaining accurate financial records. Responsibilities: • Perform detailed reconciliation of bank statements to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Verify deposits and other financial transactions on a regular basis. • Handle general ledger tasks, including journal entries and account adjustments. • Prepare and file quarterly tax returns in accordance with regulatory requirements. • Address and resolve backlogged accounting tasks to streamline operations. • Assist in corporate tax preparations, including sales tax and corporate tax return filings. • Collaborate with team members to maintain financial integrity and compliance. • Utilize Tyler Munis/Enterprise software for accounting processes and reporting.

• Proven experience in bank reconciliations and financial transaction verification. • Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entries. • Familiarity with corporate tax preparation, including quarterly filings and sales tax. • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Tyler Munis or similar systems. • Ability to organize and address backlogged financial tasks effectively. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records. • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. • Business casual attire required when working onsite.
