We are looking for a skilled IT Storage Engineer to join our team in Tampa, Florida. In this Contract-to-Permanent role, you will play a critical part in designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced storage solutions within a Linux-based environment. This position requires hands-on expertise in storage technologies and scripting, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance of storage infrastructure.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Design, implement, and manage Linux-based storage systems to meet performance and scalability requirements.<br>• Optimize storage solutions for capacity, reliability, and availability.<br>• Configure and maintain file systems such as ext4, Btrfs, and other advanced technologies.<br>• Administer storage protocols and technologies, including iSCSI and distributed storage.<br>• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve storage-related issues to minimize downtime.<br>• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate storage solutions with overall infrastructure.<br>• Automate storage provisioning and maintenance tasks using scripting languages like Bash and Python.<br>• Ensure data security and compliance with industry standards, including encryption and access controls.<br>• Perform capacity planning and conduct performance tuning for storage systems.<br>• Keep up-to-date with emerging storage technologies and recommend enhancements to existing systems.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.<br>• At least 5 years of experience in Linux system administration with a focus on storage solutions.<br>• In-depth knowledge of Linux storage technologies, including Samba, iSCSI, and distributed systems.<br>• Proficiency in managing file systems such as ext4, Btrfs, and others.<br>• Hands-on experience with enterprise storage systems such as NetApp, Ceph, or GlusterFS.<br>• Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages for automation tasks.<br>• Familiarity with virtualization and containerization tools like VMware, Docker, or Kubernetes.<br>• Understanding of backup and disaster recovery solutions, as well as storage networking protocols.
