We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Syracuse, New York. This contract-to-permanent position will focus on managing accounts receivable across multiple brands while ensuring accurate reconciliation with the General Ledger. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including field teams, other departments, and external vendors, to support financial operations effectively. Responsibilities: • Reconcile accounts receivable for all brands and prepare month-end journal entries to align with the General Ledger. • Manage credit, gift, and university card processes, including daily reconciliations, reporting, and analysis. • Conduct research and reporting on mobile refunds and cancellations. • Assist in reviewing and researching new receivable programs, including testing and programming changes. • Provide accounts receivable support during quarterly reviews and annual audits for internal and external auditors. • Participate in testing and training for updates or enhancements to reconciliation software and financial procedures. • Collaborate with various teams and vendors to ensure seamless financial operations. • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the accounting department.

• Strong knowledge of corporate tax processes, including sales tax and corporate tax returns. • Proficiency in preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts with the General Ledger. • Experience with accounts receivable processes and month-end reconciliations. • Familiarity with auditing practices, both internal and external. • Ability to conduct thorough research and provide accurate financial reporting. • Skilled in using accounting software and adapting to system upgrades. • Excellent communication and organizational skills for working across departments and with vendors.
