Staff Accountant
We are looking for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in Georgia. In this long-term contract position, you will play a critical role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic decision-making through accurate financial reporting. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced individuals to contribute their expertise in a dynamic environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Prepare and review comprehensive financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.<br>• Execute month-end and year-end closing processes with precision and timeliness.<br>• Manage general ledger operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accounts payable/receivable.<br>• Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, ensuring all required documentation is prepared.<br>• Develop, implement, and enforce accounting policies to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.<br>• Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis to guide business decisions.<br>• Perform detailed financial analyses to assist in evaluating profitability and operational efficiency.<br>• Oversee fixed asset tracking, including depreciation schedules and reconciliations.<br>• Mentor and guide less experienced accounting team members, fostering their growth.<br>• Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a master's degree is preferred.<br>• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior or supervisory role.<br>• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance.<br>• Proficiency in accounting software such as Oracle, NetSuite, or similar systems is preferred.<br>• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex data analysis.<br>• Experience with corporate tax, sales tax, and preparing corporate tax returns.<br>• Proven ability to manage general ledger activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.<br>• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
