Director of Revenue
We are looking for an experienced Director of Revenue to oversee and establish a comprehensive revenue accounting function for a growing SaaS-based organization. This long-term contract position offers a unique opportunity to lead the development of policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks while driving strategic revenue recognition initiatives. The role is based in South Lake, Texas, and requires a candidate with a strong background in ASC 606 and SaaS revenue models.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Develop and implement a complete revenue recognition infrastructure, including policies, procedures, and internal controls.<br>• Assess and refine existing revenue processes to ensure alignment with SaaS revenue principles and compliance standards.<br>• Lead efforts to ensure compliance with ASC 606 regulations for a SaaS-based business model.<br>• Collaborate with leadership to review and restructure key contracts to optimize revenue recognition.<br>• Prepare technical accounting memos and establish scalable frameworks to support compliance.<br>• Evaluate and contribute to the selection and implementation of a new revenue accounting system.<br>• Provide strategic recommendations to enhance future revenue recognition processes.<br>• Support the creation and optimization of operational processes beyond revenue recognition, including system design and accounting function build-out.<br>• Analyze complex contract structures and align them with revenue compliance requirements.<br>• Deliver solutions that ensure the organization is prepared for long-term growth and scalability.
• Extensive experience in ASC 606 revenue recognition, particularly within SaaS or technology-focused businesses.<br>• Proven ability to build revenue accounting functions for newly formed entities or carve-outs.<br>• Expertise in analyzing and restructuring contracts to align with revenue compliance needs.<br>• Strong technical accounting skills combined with operational process improvement capabilities.<br>• Familiarity with implementing revenue accounting systems and tools.<br>• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with minimal existing infrastructure.<br>• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams.<br>• Background in accounts receivable and revenue accounting processes.
