Legal Assistant
<p>A respected San Francisco plaintiff’s litigation firm is seeking a skilled Litigation Calendar Clerk to provide immediate support to its busy trial practice. This role offers an excellent opportunity to join a well-established firm known for its commitment to client advocacy, professional integrity, and collaborative culture. Initially structured as a temporary assignment, this position is expected to evolve into a temporary-to-hire opportunity for the right candidate. The firm is seeking an experienced professional who can take ownership of the litigation calendaring function, ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines, and assist in training two junior legal assistants.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Manage and maintain the firm’s litigation calendar, ensuring all deadlines comply with state, federal, and local court rules.</li><li>Process and track filings, service of pleadings, and hearing dates across multiple cases and practice areas.</li><li>Coordinate with attorneys and legal staff to confirm court appearances, depositions, discovery responses, and other time-sensitive litigation events.</li><li>Provide guidance and training to junior legal assistants on calendaring best practices and case management workflows.</li><li>Support the firm through its transition to Filevine, assisting with data migration, system setup, and process refinement.</li><li>Monitor changes to court rules and procedures, ensuring firmwide compliance and consistency in calendaring practices.</li><li>Maintain accurate records, ticklers, and reminders to facilitate proactive litigation management.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p>
<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>5+ years of litigation calendaring or docketing experience in a law firm setting.</li><li>Strong working knowledge of California state and federal court filing procedures and deadlines.</li><li>Proficiency in Filevine, iManage, ATO, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.</li><li>Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.</li><li>Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to supporting attorneys and staff.</li><li>Experience training or mentoring junior team members is highly preferred.</li></ul><p><br></p><p> This is a unique opportunity to join a reputable San Francisco litigation firm in a high-visibility role that directly supports trial teams and firm operations.
