Purchasing Clerk
<p>We are looking for a skilled Purchasing Clerk to join our team in San Diego, California. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a crucial role in managing procurement activities, ensuring timely delivery of materials, and maintaining effective relationships with vendors. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong negotiation skills and a solid understanding of purchasing processes.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Conduct research on products, prepare purchase orders, and place orders with selected vendors.</p><p>• Evaluate quotes to ensure adequate quantities and lead times for equipment or parts.</p><p>• Analyze market trends, interview vendors, and recommend sources of supply.</p><p>• Monitor purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any backorder issues.</p><p>• Assess product utilization to determine cost-effectiveness of repairs versus replacements.</p><p>• Collaborate with warehouse staff to maintain accurate inventory records and verify timely receipt of goods.</p><p>• Consult with suppliers to procure equipment meeting specifications while negotiating discounts or extended warranties.</p><p>• Establish vendor relationships, negotiate favorable terms, and create new vendor accounts when necessary.</p><p>• Compare prices, specifications, and delivery timelines to award contracts to suitable vendors.</p><p>• Work with the sales department to provide pre-sale information and conduct equipment searches.</p>
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing, preferably with equipment or electronics.<br>• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Supply Chain Management.<br>• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.<br>• Proven ability to negotiate effectively with vendors.<br>• Knowledge of purchasing functions and activities, including managing purchase orders.<br>• Familiarity with vendor management and logistics.<br>• Experience in maintaining accurate inventory and processing requisitions.<br>• Proficiency in analyzing quotes and market trends to make informed decisions.
