Budget Analyst
We are looking for a skilled Budget Analyst to join a dynamic non-profit organization in San Diego, California. This is a contract-to-permanent position offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by improving financial processes and supporting organizational goals. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing budgets, preparing financial reports, and providing data-driven insights to guide executive decisions.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.<br>• Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to enhance operational efficiency within the accounting department.<br>• Conduct audits on budget elements, comparing actual expenses to projections and analyzing discrepancies.<br>• Provide detailed financial data and insights to support decision-making by the executive team.<br>• Oversee various ledgers, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll summaries, and general ledger adjustments.<br>• Generate monthly reconciliations and reports, such as cash flow statements and balance sheet audits.<br>• Collaborate on the development of comprehensive budgets at both organizational and departmental levels, offering strategic advice to optimize spending.<br>• Assist in creating and refining financial manuals, policies, and procedures to align with industry best practices.<br>• Prepare monthly sales tax reports and other financial documents requested by the board of directors.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in budget analysis or financial management roles.<br>• Strong proficiency in managing annual budgets and budget processes.<br>• Expertise in preparing and overseeing operating budgets and ensuring alignment with approved financial plans.<br>• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.<br>• Ability to conduct detailed audits and analyses to ensure accurate budget tracking and reconciliation.<br>• Excellent communication skills to present financial insights and recommendations to stakeholders.<br>• Proficient in using financial software and tools to streamline reporting and analysis.<br>• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
