Staff Accountant - Financial Reporting
We are looking for a highly motivated Staff Accountant specializing in financial reporting to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. This contract position offers the opportunity to collaborate directly with senior management while contributing to key accounting processes and financial document preparation. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and a keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial reporting activities.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial filings, including 10-Q and 10-K reports.<br>• Compile and consolidate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.<br>• Prepare and record journal entries for stock-based compensation and corporate debt transactions.<br>• Collaborate with operational accounting teams to address and resolve accounting discrepancies.<br>• Conduct financial statement analysis and ensure compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations.<br>• Support audit processes by providing accurate documentation and responding to requests from auditors.<br>• Review draft financial reports for accuracy and trace financial results to supporting records.<br>• Partner with management to prepare schedules and reports required for internal and external use.<br>• Utilize advanced Excel functionalities, such as pivot tables and formulas, to analyze and report financial data.<br>• Participate in the preparation of informational reports, including government surveys and questionnaires.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required; a Master's degree is preferred.<br>• Minimum of 1-3 years of accounting experience, with a focus on general and financial reporting.<br>• Proficiency in accounting software, including PeopleSoft, Workday, and Cognos.<br>• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and V-lookups.<br>• Strong knowledge of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.<br>• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.<br>• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical capabilities.<br>• Solid communication skills for interacting with operational teams and senior management.
