Sr. Financial Analyst
<p>We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our healthcare team. This is a long-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced, detail-oriented individual to contribute to financial operations and analysis in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in accounting and finance to support month-end close processes, prepare detailed financial reports, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Prepare accurate and timely journal entries for the monthly general ledger close in adherence to established accounting principles and organizational procedures.</p><p>• Conduct detailed account reconciliations and balance sheet analysis, utilizing advanced knowledge of accounting.</p><p>• Develop and generate comprehensive financial reports, employing intermediate to advanced computer and software skills.</p><p>• Collaborate with department leaders and other staff to identify operational issues, recommend solutions, and monitor their implementation.</p><p>• Compile and analyze complex financial data for internal and external reporting purposes, including regulatory filings and audits.</p><p>• Oversee the financial close process for assigned hospitals, including accruals, variance analysis, communication with facility personnel, and final reporting.</p><p>• Actively participate in team efforts, fostering a collaborative environment to achieve departmental goals.</p><p>• Identify and resolve operational challenges by analyzing business practices and recommending efficiency improvements to the general ledger or other departments.</p><p>• Post routine journal entries independently, prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, and evaluate best practices for analytical reviews.</p><p>• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and supporting their detail-oriented growth.</p>
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance; healthcare or hospital industry experience is strongly preferred.<br>• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.<br>• Advanced knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and accounting theories.<br>• Proficient in personal computer applications, including intermediate to advanced Excel and general ledger processing software.<br>• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.<br>• Ability to work independently while maintaining proactive communication with supervisors.<br>• Capable of fostering collaboration and encouraging teamwork within a results-driven setting.<br>• Willingness to occasionally travel to supported facilities during standard work hours.
