We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our team on a part-time contract basis in Pikesville, Maryland. This role focuses on managing accounts receivable tasks, including tracking payments and issuing invoices, while supporting broader accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in financial operations and a proactive approach to collections and reconciliation. Responsibilities: • Manage accounts receivable processes, including tracking and reconciling incoming payments from various platforms such as PayPal, Square, and direct payments. • Prepare and issue invoices to students, ensuring billing accuracy and timeliness. • Follow up with students regarding outstanding payments and handle collections with attention to detail. • Utilize QuickBooks to maintain accurate financial records and streamline accounting operations. • Support account reconciliation efforts, ensuring all transactions are correctly documented. • Collaborate with the team to address any discrepancies in financial data. • Assist with accounts payable responsibilities as needed, contributing to the overall efficiency of the accounting department. • Maintain organized records and documentation for auditing purposes. • Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial processes and systems.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related role. • Proficiency in managing accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks and other accounting software. • Demonstrated expertise in billing and collections processes. • Ability to perform account reconciliation with attention to detail. • Excellent organizational and communication skills. • Familiarity with consumer collections practices and regulations. • Capable of working independently and managing time effectively.
