Payroll Manager
We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to join our team on a contract basis in Oakbrook, Illinois. This role involves overseeing payroll operations for multiple brands, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, and driving efficiency through process improvements. If you are passionate about payroll management and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we invite you to apply.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage payroll processes for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.<br>• Collaborate with HR teams to verify timekeeping records and address discrepancies effectively.<br>• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement scalable solutions to enhance efficiency and quality controls.<br>• Set up new state jurisdictions and oversee quarterly and year-end payroll activities.<br>• Maintain accurate payroll data, ensuring timely filings with government agencies in coordination with the payroll provider.<br>• Develop and update standard operating procedures, including controls for new hires and compensation adjustments.<br>• Assist the accounting team with payroll reconciliations and benefit expense reporting.<br>• Manage onboarding processes, including training, benefits enrollment, and 401(k) administration, in partnership with HR representatives.<br>• Handle workers’ compensation audits and collaborate with HR and finance teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in payroll management or a similar role.<br>• Strong knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.<br>• Expertise in handling workers’ compensation and garnishments.<br>• Proficiency in payroll software, with experience in ADP Workforce Now preferred.<br>• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.<br>• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.<br>• Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.<br>• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Certified Payroll designation is a plus.
