<p>We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team near Oak Brook, Illinois. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, focusing on complex financial reporting, technical accounting, and compliance. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced settings, possesses strong analytical skills, and demonstrates attention to detail while delivering solutions-oriented results.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Manage month-end close procedures, including preparing journal entries, accruals, intercompany eliminations, and account reconciliations across multiple entities.</p><p>• Compile and present financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures in accordance with reporting requirements.</p><p>• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as FP& A, legal, and operations, to align accounting processes with business strategies.</p><p>• Conduct technical accounting research and provide analysis on complex issues, including standards and pronouncements.</p><p>• Support external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.</p><p>• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory standards.</p><p>• Lead or contribute to project-based initiatives, such as system upgrades, process improvements, and development of standard operating procedures.</p><p>• Perform lease accounting and reconciliation tasks to maintain accurate records.</p><p>• Provide financial analysis to support business initiatives and decision-making processes.</p><p>• Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.</p>

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.<br>• Minimum of 5 years of experience in general accounting.<br>• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.<br>• Familiarity with accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, Great Plains, or similar platforms.<br>• Ability to research and interpret technical accounting standards, including lease accounting and revenue recognition.<br>• Strong problem-solving skills and a solutions-focused mindset.<br>• Experience in retail or healthcare industries is preferred but not required.<br>• Knowledge of compliance standards and internal controls is advantageous.
