<p>We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Des Plaines, Illinois. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting practices, and supporting organizational objectives. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate closely with leadership and support the financial success of our company.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Collaborate with the Controller to develop and achieve financial objectives and prepare monthly financial statements, including profit and loss reports and balance sheets.</p><p>• Oversee general accounting tasks such as payroll, accounts payable and receivable, cash control, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.</p><p>• Conduct thorough reviews of financial entries, identify inconsistencies, and make necessary corrections before finalizing reports.</p><p>• Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals analysis, and proper revenue and expense allocation.</p><p>• Cross-train in all accounting functions to provide backup support during team absences and maintain smooth operations.</p><p>• Handle sales tax reporting for both product sales and purchases, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.</p><p>• Supervise fixed asset accounting processes, including depreciation calculations and general ledger reconciliations.</p><p>• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, including participation in financial reviews and budget meetings.</p><p>• Partner with the Controller during financial audits, sales tax audits, and income tax reporting to ensure compliance and accuracy.</p><p>• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and reduce redundancies.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Benefits: 401K with 3% profit sharing contribution</strong></p><p><strong>Medical- 100% paid for employee- Blue cross plan </strong></p><p><strong>Vacation and holiday pay</strong></p>

• A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior or supervisory role.<br>• Proven expertise in month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.<br>• Strong knowledge of general ledger management and financial statement preparation.<br>• Experience with financial audits and tax reporting processes.<br>• Proficiency in handling payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other core accounting functions.<br>• Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to leadership.<br>• Familiarity with fixed asset accounting and depreciation processes.<br>• Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
