<p><strong>Job Title: AWS Infrastructure Engineer – OpenShift (Remote, Contract)</strong></p><p> <strong>Contract Duration:</strong> 6 months (with potential for extension)</p><p> <strong>Location:</strong> Remote (Client based in New Orleans, LA)</p><p> <strong>Start Date:</strong> ASAP</p><p>We are seeking a highly skilled <strong>AWS Infrastructure Engineer</strong> with expertise in <strong>Red Hat OpenShift</strong> to join a dynamic team supporting enterprise cloud initiatives for a major electric utility. This is a remote contract role with the potential for extension, offering the opportunity to lead infrastructure design and automation efforts in a regulated, mission-critical environment.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Architect, deploy, and manage Red Hat OpenShift clusters on AWS using user-provisioned infrastructure (UPI).</li><li>Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for automated infrastructure provisioning and secure application deployment.</li><li>Ensure compliance with NERC CIP, FISMA, and internal cybersecurity standards.</li><li>Build and maintain scalable, resilient AWS environments (VPCs, EC2, IAM, Route 53, Load Balancers, CloudWatch, S3, etc.).</li><li>Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.</li><li>Integrate OpenShift with AWS services to enhance observability, performance, and security.</li><li>Implement disaster recovery and backup strategies aligned with utility operational requirements.</li><li>Define and enforce network and security controls for regulated environments.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize workloads using containers and microservices.</li><li>Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in infrastructure automation.</li><li>Maintain detailed architecture documentation and compliance evidence for audits.</li><li>Participate in incident response and root cause analysis activities.</li></ul><p><br></p>

<p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).</li><li>4+ years of experience in AWS infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or platform operations.</li><li>Proven experience deploying OpenShift clusters on AWS using UPI.</li><li>Strong CI/CD pipeline development experience (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Tekton).</li><li>Deep knowledge of AWS services and network security architecture.</li><li>Proficiency in IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).</li><li>Advanced Linux system administration skills (preferably RHEL).</li><li>Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.</li><li>Scripting skills (Python, Bash, or Go).</li><li>Strong understanding of compliance and cybersecurity in regulated environments.</li><li>Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or RHCE.</li><li>AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.</li><li>Familiarity with NERC CIP, FERC, or similar standards.</li><li>Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch).</li><li>Experience with GitOps tools (Argo CD, FluxCD).</li><li>Background in utility IT/OT environments or SCADA-adjacent systems.</li><li>Experience with Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA).</li></ul><p><br></p>
