<p>We are looking for a highly skilled Accountant to join our client's team in New Orleans, Louisiana. This Contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with expertise in federal grant compliance and advanced data analysis. The role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Manage administration of grants and contracts, preparing budgets, reviewing grant documentation, and approving requisitions and payment requests.</p><p>• Prepare invoices and maintain invoice listing database while following up on outstanding receivables and adhering to specific terms of each grant or contract.</p><p>• Perform high-volume data entry and validation tasks with precision and efficiency.</p><p>• Apply accounting principles, such as debits and credits.</p><p>• Collaborate closely with members from internal and external agencies.</p><p>• Provide detailed documentation and financial reports.</p><p>• Develop and document procedures to enhance the process.</p>
<p>• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, including debits, credits, and cost allocation methodologies.</p><p>• Proven proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables.</p><p>• Strong experience in general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliations.</p><p>• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.</p><p>• Previous experience working with grants and grant compliance highly preferred. </p><p>• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across multiple departments.</p><p>• Familiarity with federal grant guidelines and compliance requirements is highly desirable.</p><p>• Demonstrated ability to support audits by providing comprehensive labor documentation and financial reports.</p>
