Webmaster
We are looking for a skilled Webmaster to join our team in Nashville, Tennessee, on a contract with the potential for a permanent position. This role is essential for maintaining and enhancing the web presence of a non-profit organization, ensuring that its websites are functional, visually appealing, and aligned with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise, creativity, and strong communication skills to work collaboratively with colleagues and support users effectively.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Design and implement the layout and structure of the organization’s web systems to ensure optimal functionality and usability.<br>• Develop templates and websites tailored to user needs, collaborating closely with web designers.<br>• Introduce new features and functionalities to enhance user experience, including RSS feeds and editable regions.<br>• Create and edit visual elements such as headers, images, and graphics for web pages.<br>• Review and update site content to maintain accuracy, relevance, and quality.<br>• Research and integrate modern technologies to keep web solutions current and innovative.<br>• Convert outdated websites to new platforms and provide guidance to user communities during transitions.<br>• Partner with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring system upgrades are implemented smoothly.<br>• Offer technical support to staff, faculty, and students for website-related concerns, including account resets.<br>• Conduct training sessions and develop instructional guides to educate users on system features and functionality.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.<br>• 3-5 years of experience in web development and IT support with attention to detail.<br>• Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and ASP.NET.<br>• Familiarity with website management tools, including WordPress, Google Analytics, and DNS.<br>• Strong understanding of web architecture, design principles, and SEO best practices.<br>• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present ideas effectively.<br>• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.<br>• Preferred: Certifications like Certified Webmaster or CompTIA, and experience in higher education or academic settings.
