Sr. Accountant
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This long-term contract position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in non-profit accounting, grant management, and payroll systems. The role is on-site but may offer occasional remote flexibility.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Prepare and record payroll entries efficiently using Paylocity.<br>• Manage grant accounting processes, including cost allocations and preparation of cost reports.<br>• Implement and oversee compliance with non-profit accounting standards, ensuring accurate allocation of direct, indirect, and administrative costs.<br>• Perform detailed reconciliations for accounts and banks to ensure financial accuracy.<br>• Conduct month-end close activities to finalize financial statements.<br>• Maintain and update the general ledger with precision and attention to detail.<br>• Generate journal entries and ensure proper documentation for financial transactions.<br>• Utilize advanced Excel features, such as pivot tables, for effective data analysis and reporting.<br>• Work with mid-level accounting software, including /Abila, to streamline financial processes.<br>• Collaborate with internal teams to address accounting challenges and improve operational efficiency.
• Proven experience in non-profit accounting, including grant management and cost allocation.<br>• Proficiency in payroll systems, with specific expertise in Paylocity.<br>• Strong technical skills, including advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with pivot tables.<br>• Knowledge of mid-level accounting software; QuickBooks experience is insufficient.<br>• Ability to handle month-end close processes and generate accurate financial statements.<br>• Expertise in general ledger maintenance and journal entry creation.<br>• Demonstrated ability to perform account and bank reconciliations.<br>• Comprehensive understanding of non-profit regulations and accounting principles.
