Sr. Accountant
<p>We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our client's finance team in Memphis, Tennessee. This role offers the opportunity to manage critical accounting operations, compliance tasks, and reporting across multiple regions, including the U.S., Canada, and Europe. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, payroll processes, tax filings, and audit preparation, with a focus on accuracy and process improvement.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Prepare and record journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and amortization schedules.</p><p>• Conduct monthly bank and general ledger reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.</p><p>• Monitor financial transactions such as deposits and reversals, investigating discrepancies as required.</p><p>• Support payroll processing, including reviewing timecard approvals and reconciling payroll batches.</p><p>• Assist with state-specific payroll reconciliations for tax return preparation and compliance reporting.</p><p>• File state and Canadian sales tax returns, ensuring accurate calculations based on ship-to locations.</p><p>• Prepare schedules and documentation for external audits, responding to auditor requests as necessary.</p><p>• Manage intercompany transactions and reporting for international subsidiaries, including statutory requirements.</p><p>• Collaborate with management on improving financial processes and system efficiencies.</p><p>• Provide assistance with insurance compliance, workers’ compensation calculations, and other finance-related projects.</p>
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.<br>• At least 5–7 years of accounting experience, preferably with multinational operations.<br>• Proficiency in accounting systems, preferably NetSuite, and payroll platforms such as ADP.<br>• Strong understanding of tax compliance, including sales tax and payroll reporting.<br>• Demonstrated experience preparing reconciliations, journal entries, and tax filings.<br>• Prior experience supporting audits, with international audit exposure being a plus.<br>• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and data analysis.<br>• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
