Sr. Accountant
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Little Rock, Arkansas, on a contract basis. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing financial operations across multiple business units within the transport industry. This position offers the chance to apply advanced accounting skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.<br>• Perform month-end close procedures, including reconciliation of general ledger accounts and preparation of financial reports.<br>• Utilize AS400 systems to input, extract, and analyze financial data for reporting and decision-making purposes.<br>• Develop and manage detailed Excel workbooks to track financial performance, analyze data, and support audits.<br>• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes as required.<br>• Collaborate with internal teams to address accounting issues and enhance information flows.<br>• Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and ensuring regulatory compliance.<br>• Participate in special projects, process improvements, and ad hoc financial analyses as needed.<br>• Monitor multiple lines of business or cost centers to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting.<br>• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment on financial matters.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the transportation or logistics industry.<br>• Proficiency in working with AS400 accounting systems.<br>• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and data analysis.<br>• Experience managing financial operations for multiple business units or cost centers.<br>• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to meet deadlines and ensure accuracy.<br>• Effective communication abilities to collaborate within a cross-functional team environment.<br>• Knowledge of general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliation processes.<br>• Familiarity with bank reconciliation and other financial management tasks.
