Staff Accountant
We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Lake Forest, California. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a key role in managing accounts payable, processing payments, and ensuring accurate reconciliation of accounts. Your contributions will support month-end close activities and facilitate smooth financial operations for the organization.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Process weekly accounts payable batches, ensuring timely approvals and accurate bank setups for payments.<br>• Collaborate with the offshore team to review and code invoices appropriately, maintaining accuracy in accounts payable records.<br>• Communicate with vendors to verify payment details and resolve discrepancies in account information.<br>• Assist in setting up new vendors and employees for payments or reimbursements, coordinating with relevant departments.<br>• Prepare monthly travel expense reports to provide insights into departmental and specific spending trends.<br>• Maintain and update the monthly purchase order tracker to ensure vendor billing aligns with approved funding limits.<br>• Scan and upload accounts payable documents received via mail, organizing and filing payment records efficiently.<br>• Support audit-related inquiries by providing detailed documentation and resolving accounting concerns.<br>• Perform account reconciliations and assist with federal billing and revenue tasks during month-end close processes.<br>• Handle general accounting duties such as journal entries and ledger updates as required.
<p>• Proficiency in managing journal entries and maintaining an accurate general ledger.</p><p>• Familiarity with accounts payable and expense processing systems.</p><p>• Ability to reconcile accounts and support month-end close activities.</p><p>• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing financial records.</p><p>• Effective communication skills to collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams.</p><p>• Competency in using accounting software and tools for accurate reporting and analysis.</p>
