We are currently working with a client in San Diego, CA, to find a talented Staff Accountant to support their growing finance team. If you’re passionate about accounting, have strong analytical skills, and are eager to contribute to a dynamic organization, this role may be the perfect fit for you.</p><p><br></p><p>The Staff Accountant will assist with financial reporting, prepare account reconciliations, and support month-end and year-end close processes. The position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Prepare and post journal entries to support the general ledger operations.</li><li>Reconcile bank accounts and perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.</li><li>Assist in month-end and year-end close activities, including financial statement preparation.</li><li>Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable processing for proper coding.</li><li>Support budgeting and forecasting processes by collecting and analyzing financial data.</li><li>Audit, analyze, and resolve discrepancies within accounts.</li><li>Provide support for external audits by organizing financial data and preparing required documentation.</li><li>Analyze and report variances compared to the forecast, and recommend corrective actions where needed.</li></ul><p><br></p>

<ul><li>Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.</li><li>Experience: 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.</li><li>Technical Skills: Proficiency in general ledger accounting systems like QuickBooks, NetSuite, or SAP. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP).</li><li>Knowledge: Familiarity with GAAP and an understanding of how to maintain compliance with financial regulations.</li><li>Detail-Oriented: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to ensure accuracy in accounting practices.</li><li>Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication to effectively collaborate with teams and stakeholders.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>CPA or pursuing CPA certification is considered a plus.</li><li>Experience working in a fast-paced environment or supporting large accounting teams.</li><li>Knowledge of intercompany transactions and consolidation accounting is an advantage.</li></ul><p><br></p>
