<p>Robert Half is currently recruiting for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Knoxville, Tennessee. In this role, you will handle a variety of accounting tasks and contribute to maintaining accurate financial records. If you have a strong background in accounting and enjoy working in a collaborative environment, this opportunity is perfect for you.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.</p><p>• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including timely payments and collections.</p><p>• Perform month-end closing procedures, ensuring all financial data is reconciled and accurate.</p><p>• Conduct bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations to maintain transparency in financial records.</p><p>• Assist with audit preparation by organizing documentation and supporting audit requests.</p><p>• Analyze variances in financial data to identify discrepancies and provide recommendations.</p><p>• Utilize Deltek Costpoint software for efficient management of accounting tasks.</p><p>• Ensure compliance with sales tax regulations by preparing and submitting accurate reports.</p><p>• Monitor the general ledger to ensure all transactions are properly recorded.</p><p>• Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting procedures and improve efficiency.</p><p><br></p><p>The position is primarily remote but the client will require someone to live in the local Knoxville and surrounding areas. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role, with a proven track record of success.<br>• Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint software and a solid understanding of its functionalities.<br>• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including journal entries, general ledger, and financial reconciliations.<br>• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close processes.<br>• Ability to prepare for audits and conduct variance analysis with precision.<br>• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.<br>• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.<br>• Familiarity with sales tax regulations and compliance requirements.
