We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a short-term contract basis in Kansas City, Missouri. In this role, you will focus on ensuring the accuracy of financial records by reconciling internal documentation with reported expenses. This position requires someone with strong attention to detail who excels in problem-solving and cross-referencing data across multiple systems. Responsibilities: • Perform detailed reconciliations of internal financial records against reported expenses to ensure accuracy before audits. • Analyze and cross-reference data across platforms, including Excel and Google Sheets, to identify discrepancies. • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between internal databases and external reports. • Utilize Microsoft Excel to organize, analyze, and validate financial data. • Generate and review reports using NetSuite to support reconciliation efforts. • Ensure all grant-related expenses align with the finalized records of closed-out grants. • Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify and resolve inconsistencies in financial data. • Maintain thorough documentation of reconciliation processes and outcomes for audit readiness. • Provide insights and recommendations to improve accuracy in financial reporting.

• Proven experience in account reconciliation and financial auditing. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced data analysis skills. • Familiarity with Google Sheets for data management and cross-referencing. • Experience with NetSuite or similar financial systems is highly desirable. • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies. • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking. • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a short-term project setting. • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
