Tax Preparer
We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team on a contract basis in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will apply your expertise to handle individual and international tax returns, ensuring compliance with U.S. federal and state regulations. The position offers flexibility with onsite, hybrid, or remote options, making it adaptable to your preferences.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Prepare and process individual tax returns, including forms such as 5471, 5472, 8822, and FBAR filings.<br>• Handle international tax compliance tasks, offering specialized knowledge in cross-border tax regulations.<br>• Conduct thorough reviews of tax returns prepared by staff, ensuring accuracy and identifying opportunities for tax savings.<br>• Research and resolve tax notices from various authorities, providing clear recommendations and solutions.<br>• Utilize Thomson Reuters Tax Software to efficiently manage tax preparation and compliance.<br>• Collaborate with clients to deliver exceptional service, including tax planning and consulting tailored to their needs.<br>• Train and mentor associates and interns, guiding them through tax projects and supporting their growth and development.<br>• Analyze clients’ current tax processes to identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements that reduce tax exposure.<br>• Stay up-to-date with state and local tax regulations, providing insights and solutions that enhance clients' financial outcomes.<br>• Manage special projects and participate in initiatives aimed at improving tax processes and client services.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.<br>• A minimum of 5 years of experience in U.S. federal and state tax compliance is essential.<br>• EA License certification with over 5 years of experience is required.<br>• Proficiency in Thomson Reuters Tax Software is mandatory.<br>• Experience with international tax compliance is preferred.<br>• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is highly desirable.<br>• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, organization, communication, and analytical thinking.<br>• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
