We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team near Hartford, Connecticut. This is a long-term contract position that offers the opportunity to contribute to critical financial operations and analysis. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining compliance with accounting standards for our healthcare client. Responsibilities:• Oversee month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial statements.• Prepare and review journal entries to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.• Conduct detailed account reconciliations to ensure proper documentation and accuracy.• Analyze financial data and trends to support decision-making and strategy development.• Assist in consolidating financial information across departments for comprehensive reporting.• Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations to ensure alignment with records.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial reporting processes.• Maintain compliance with accounting regulations and standards.• Identify opportunities for process improvements within financial operations.• Support audits and provide necessary documentation to external auditors.

• Proven experience in managing month-end close processes and financial reporting.• Proficiency in general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation.• Strong skills in performing account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.• Familiarity with bank reconciliation procedures and related financial tasks.• Advanced knowledge of Excel for data analysis and reporting.• Healthcare experience preferred• Ability to consolidate financial information and produce accurate reports.• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
