We are looking for an experienced Senior Payroll professional to join our team on a contract basis in Gurnee, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for managing payroll processes with precision and ensuring compliance with multi-state tax regulations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a growing organization while working collaboratively with HR and finance teams. Responsibilities:• Oversee the complete payroll cycle for both hourly and salaried employees, ensuring accurate processing of wages, bonuses, deductions, and commissions.• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Benefits teams to address payroll-related inquiries and ensure seamless operations.• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, as well as employment agreements.• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies efficiently while maintaining professionalism.• Recommend process improvements to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of payroll operations.• Support year-end reporting, benefit enrollments, and other payroll-related projects.• Utilize ADP Workforce Now to configure, troubleshoot, and generate reports to meet organizational needs.• Ensure timely and accurate submission of payroll tax reports across multiple states.

• 4–6 years of payroll experience managing payroll for 500+ employees across multiple states. • Advanced proficiency with ADP Workforce Now, including configuration and reporting. • Strong understanding of federal and state wage and tax laws. • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to follow through on tasks. • Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain complex payroll matters clearly. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience managing large data sets. • Certification in payroll systems such as ADP or similar is preferred. • A commitment to accuracy and delivering exceptional service.
