Controller
Our client is seeking to permanent an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations and ensure the accuracy of accounting processes in their organization. Based in Crestwood, Illinois, this role requires a strong background in managing financial activities for commercial construction projects. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining compliance, optimizing financial performance, and supporting strategic decision-making. <br> Responsibilities: • Manage all aspects of project accounting, including tracking expenses and ensuring accurate financial reporting. • Oversee payroll processes to ensure timely and accurate compensation for employees. • Perform reconciliations of accounts to maintain financial accuracy and integrity. • Handle licensing and compliance requirements to meet industry standards. • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing necessary reports. • Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure smooth cash flow. • Negotiate insurance policies to secure appropriate coverage at optimal costs. • Develop cost analysis, financial proposals, and projections to support decision-making. • Collaborate with teams to prepare and review budgets for commercial construction projects.
• Proven experience in financial management, particularly within commercial construction projects.<br>• Strong knowledge of project accounting, payroll, and reconciliations.<br>• Expertise in month-end and year-end closing processes.<br>• Familiarity with licensing and compliance requirements in the construction industry.<br>• Proficiency in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.<br>• Demonstrated ability to perform cost analysis and financial forecasting.<br>• Strong negotiation skills for handling insurance and vendor agreements.<br>• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
