Sr. Budget Analyst
We are looking for an experienced Sr. Budget Analyst to join our team in Goochland, Virginia. In this contract position, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the organization’s financial planning and budgetary processes. This position is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a non-profit organization by ensuring efficient resource allocation and financial accountability.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Collaborate with managers across the organization to develop comprehensive budgets that align with departmental and organizational goals.<br>• Review budget proposals to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to organizational standards.<br>• Consolidate individual departmental budgets into a cohesive organizational budget for leadership review and approval.<br>• Evaluate funding requests by assessing their feasibility, merit, and alignment with organizational priorities.<br>• Monitor and track expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgets and flag any discrepancies.<br>• Prepare detailed financial reports to provide insights into current spending and future financial needs.<br>• Analyze and defend budget recommendations using data-driven methodologies and evidence-based analyses.<br>• Provide expert guidance on budget management practices to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Proven experience in annual budget creation and management.<br>• Strong understanding of budget processes and financial planning principles.<br>• Demonstrated expertise in preparing and consolidating budgets for large organizations.<br>• Familiarity with monitoring and controlling operational budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility.<br>• Ability to analyze financial data and present actionable insights to stakeholders.<br>• Proficiency in creating detailed reports that communicate financial metrics and projections.<br>• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills in a financial context.<br>• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and leadership.
