We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Evanston, Illinois. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization’s operational needs. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with 3–5 years of experience who are eager to contribute to a dynamic and collaborative environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Conduct thorough reviews of accounting records, financial statements, and reports to ensure accuracy and adherence to established standards.<br>• Prepare and post adjusting journal entries while reconciling accounts to resolve discrepancies.<br>• Analyze audit results to identify risks and recommend strategies for operational or financial improvements.<br>• Manage corporate tax-related tasks, including sales tax filings and corporate tax returns.<br>• Maintain and update general ledger accounts, ensuring proper categorization and documentation.<br>• Utilize Costpoint by Deltek to perform accounting tasks and streamline processes.<br>• Provide office support by organizing supplies, coordinating events, processing mail, and maintaining a well-structured workspace.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.<br>• 3–5 years of experience in accounting roles with a focus on detail-oriented tasks.<br>• Proficiency in corporate tax, sales tax, and preparing corporate tax returns.<br>• Hands-on experience with journal entries and general ledger management.<br>• Familiarity with Costpoint by Deltek or similar accounting software.<br>• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.<br>• Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
