We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Durham, North Carolina. This is a Contract-to-permanent position within a growing startup environment that values collaboration and innovation. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing financial processes, ensuring accuracy, and supporting the company’s expansion into new markets. Responsibilities: • Oversee month-end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting. • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all entries are properly documented. • Prepare and post journal entries while adhering to company policies and accounting standards. • Conduct account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies. • Perform bank reconciliations and ensure proper cash management processes. • Analyze financial data to support decision-making and provide insights to leadership. • Collaborate with team members to improve accounting procedures and systems. • Assist with financial reporting requirements and audits as needed. • Support the company’s growth by managing accounting tasks related to retail expansion. • Utilize Xero or similar accounting software efficiently to streamline operations.

• Proven experience in accounting, with a focus on month-end close and financial reporting.• Proficiency in general ledger maintenance and journal entry preparation.• Strong skills in account and bank reconciliations.• Familiarity with Xero or similar accounting software such as QuickBooks.• Background in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry is a must have.• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced startup environment.• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
