Police Clerk
We are looking for a dedicated Police Clerk to join our team in Cottage City, Maryland. In this Contract to permanent position, you will provide essential administrative support to the department, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Perform routine clerical and administrative tasks to support departmental operations.<br>• Receive and manage routine and emergency calls, ensuring accurate documentation and communication.<br>• Maintain official records and assist in implementing code enforcement policies and procedures.<br>• Oversee and process tickets and payments efficiently.<br>• Coordinate with the Office Manager regarding police deposits and financial matters.<br>• Assist with community programs such as the monthly Share Food program giveaway.<br>• Greet and assist visitors, clients, and staff in a welcoming and attentive manner.<br>• Manage the department’s red-light camera system, including reviewing citations, inputting data, and maintaining related files.<br>• Prepare cases for court proceedings and testify when required.<br>• Ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information and uphold high standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s degree is preferred.<br>• Proven experience in an administrative or police clerk role.<br>• Fluency in both spoken and written Spanish and English.<br>• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and experience with office equipment.<br>• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.<br>• Exceptional organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.<br>• Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach.<br>• Ability to maintain composure under pressure and handle challenging situations effectively.
