We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting operations, budgeting, and compliance within the construction industry. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring financial accuracy while supporting strategic business decisions and driving organizational growth. Responsibilities: • Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities. • Prepare comprehensive financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analyses, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. • Collaborate with project managers to monitor job costs, analyze variances, and ensure construction projects adhere to budget. • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure compliance with industry regulations. • Lead the development of annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts, providing insights to support strategic decision-making. • Ensure proper tracking and reporting of work-in-progress schedules and percentage-of-completion accounting. • Oversee tax compliance, regulatory filings, and bonding requirements specific to the construction industry. • Build and maintain relationships with external auditors, banks, and insurance providers. • Mentor and guide the finance team, fostering growth and promoting high performance. • Drive process improvements within the finance department to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; certifications such as CPA are preferred. • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3-5 years in the construction industry. • Expertise in construction accounting software, such as Sage 300, Viewpoint, or Procore. • Proficiency in percentage-of-completion accounting and managing work-in-progress reports. • Strong familiarity with payroll processes and compliance specific to commercial construction. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and a solid understanding of ERP systems. • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. • Proven leadership skills with experience managing and developing a finance team.
