We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Chicago, Illinois. This role involves supporting the corporate accounting group and managing key financial processes, including month-end close and reconciliations. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in general ledger accounting and corporate financial reporting, along with experience using Oracle software.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Perform month-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.<br>• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the integrity of financial records.<br>• Conduct account and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.<br>• Review profit and loss statements and balance sheets for variance analysis.<br>• Support the corporate accounting team in maintaining overall financial health.<br>• Utilize Oracle software to manage large-scale accounting operations.<br>• Analyze and resolve discrepancies in financial data and reporting.<br>• Ensure adherence to corporate accounting policies and practices.<br>• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting procedures.<br>• Provide insights and recommendations for improving financial processes.

• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in corporate accounting roles.<br>• Proficiency in general ledger accounting and financial reporting.<br>• Strong knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.<br>• Experience conducting variance reviews for profit and loss statements and balance sheets.<br>• Familiarity with Oracle software and its application in large corporate environments.<br>• Previous experience in large corporate organizations is required.<br>• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.<br>• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
