HR Generalist
<p>We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join our team in Chesapeake, Virginia. In this role, you will serve as a key resource for employees and supervisors, providing guidance on workplace matters and ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws. This position offers the opportunity to foster a positive work environment and contribute to the overall success of the organization.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Provide employees and supervisors with guidance on company policies, workplace issues, and compliance matters.</p><p>• Build strong relationships to promote employee engagement and retention across the organization.</p><p>• Partner with regional leadership and conduct regular site visits to address workforce needs and challenges.</p><p>• Manage recruitment efforts, including crafting job postings, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews.</p><p>• Oversee onboarding processes to ensure new hires are seamlessly integrated into the company.</p><p>• Maintain accurate job descriptions and assist with workforce planning initiatives to align with organizational goals.</p><p>• Represent the company at hiring events and job fairs, building connections to attract top talent.</p><p>• Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.</p><p>• Support benefits administration, including processing updates and coordinating with insurance providers.</p><p>• Assist supervisors with performance reviews, employee development plans, and disciplinary actions.</p>
<p>• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience in construction or similar industries will be considered.</p><p>• A minimum of 5 years of HR experience, ideally in construction, manufacturing, or a field-based workforce environment.</p><p>• Strong understanding of employment laws, HR best practices, and multi-state labor regulations.</p><p>• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.</p><p>• Proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and payroll/timekeeping platforms.</p><p>• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and benefits administration.</p><p>• Experience in building relationships and fostering a positive workplace culture.</p><p>• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills to address workplace challenges effectively.</p><p> Will be required to travel 1-2 days monthly by car up to 75 miles.</p>
