Staff Accountant
We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. This role is ideal for someone with great attention to detail and a strong background in corporate tax, sales tax, and general ledger management. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulations while contributing to the overall efficiency of the accounting processes.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Prepare and review corporate tax returns and ensure timely filing in compliance with regulations.<br>• Manage sales tax processes, including calculations, reporting, and payments.<br>• Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of bank accounts to ensure accuracy.<br>• Create and maintain journal entries, verifying their accuracy and alignment with financial data.<br>• Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring all accounts are properly maintained and up to date.<br>• Utilize advanced Excel skills, such as pivot tables, to analyze and organize financial data.<br>• Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and enhance workflow efficiencies.<br>• Provide support during software migration projects, ensuring accurate data transfer and integration.<br>• Assist with preparing financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders.<br>• Address discrepancies and resolve issues related to financial transactions or records.
• Proven experience in corporate tax, including preparation and filing of returns.<br>• Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and reporting requirements.<br>• Proficiency in general ledger management and journal entry creation.<br>• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis.<br>• Ability to perform accurate bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.<br>• Familiarity with accounting software and tools used for financial data management.<br>• Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.<br>• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
