Sr. Accountant
We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team in Boca Raton, Florida. In this contract position, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supporting audits, and analyzing accounting data to drive informed decision-making. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and a deep understanding of accounting principles.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Analyze financial results related to general ledger accounts, identifying significant budget variances and correcting potential errors.<br>• Prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.<br>• Assist management with self-insurance tasks, including risk analysis budgeting, premium processes, and balance sheet reconciliations for various liability categories.<br>• Develop and maintain financial models and spreadsheets for actuarial analysis and reporting.<br>• Provide statistical reports and insights to management regarding self-insurance trends and performance.<br>• Use analytical tools to identify key trends and financial drivers, linking them to overall financial outcomes.<br>• Prepare and analyze monthly incurred but not reported (IBNR) revenue journal entries.<br>• Create and maintain detailed workpapers to support external audit requirements.<br>• Collaborate with management to summarize and present accounting data in a clear and actionable manner.<br>• Support month-end close processes and ensure timely completion of journal entries.
• Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience, with a focus on general ledger and financial analysis.<br>• Proficiency in month-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.<br>• Strong knowledge of intercompany accounting, including eliminations and transactions.<br>• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.<br>• Experience preparing account and bank reconciliations with attention to detail.<br>• Ability to develop and manage complex financial models and actuarial spreadsheets.<br>• Familiarity with self-insurance accounting and reporting processes is a plus.<br>• Excellent analytical and communication skills to present financial insights effectively.
