Cost Accountant
We are looking for a dedicated Cost Accountant to join our team in Allentown, Pennsylvania. This role is essential for managing cost accounting processes, including variance analysis, inventory reconciliation, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing cost accounting and a keen eye for detail to ensure accurate financial oversight.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Oversee the cost close-out process for completed project shipments and installations, ensuring all financial data is accurate and complete.<br>• Conduct detailed variance analyses for completed projects and collaborate with managers to resolve discrepancies.<br>• Prepare and post monthly journal entries to reflect cost adjustments and variances.<br>• Generate and present monthly management reports that provide insights into costs and project performance.<br>• Reconcile and maintain inventory accounts, ensuring proper tracking and reporting.<br>• Review project quotes and contracts to verify compliance with accounting standards and financial policies.<br>• Establish and monitor project phases to facilitate precise cost tracking throughout the project lifecycle.<br>• Manage accruals for project-related costs, including warranties, training, post-shipment, and installation expenses.<br>• Provide necessary documentation and support during year-end audits, addressing auditor requests and inquiries.<br>• Maintain and update accurate standard material costs within the accounting system.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.<br>• Proficiency in manufacturing cost accounting and variance analysis.<br>• Strong understanding of standard cost accounting principles and practices.<br>• Experience with managing inventory accounts and cost reconciliations.<br>• Ability to review and analyze project quotes and contracts for financial accuracy.<br>• Skilled in preparing journal entries and management reports.<br>• Familiarity with financial audit processes and providing required documentation.<br>• Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
