We are looking for an Assistant Controller to help lead core accounting activities for our aerospace operation in Arlington, Washington. This position plays an important role in producing accurate financial information, supporting compliance with established accounting standards, and strengthening day-to-day financial controls. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in closing processes, cost-focused analysis, and reporting within a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities:• Oversee essential accounting workflows and help maintain effective financial control practices across daily operations.• Prepare, review, and post journal entries related to revenue, expenses, payroll, and other general ledger activity while supporting an efficient month-end close.• Reconcile balance sheet and other key accounts, investigate discrepancies, and assemble detailed documentation to support financial accuracy.• Partner with accounts payable and accounts receivable teams to support timely transaction processing and resolve accounting issues.• Produce monthly financial reports, explain performance fluctuations, and provide analysis to support management decision-making.• Record recurring and nonrecurring accruals throughout monthly and year-end closing cycles.• Assist with quarterly and annual tax filings, year-end audit preparation, and coordination with external auditors.• Support budgeting, costing analysis, inventory-related accounting activities, and reporting in a standard cost manufacturing environment.• Review production, expense, and system-generated transactions for completeness and accuracy, and contribute to process and ERP system improvements where appropriate. • Experience managing month-end close activities and maintaining general ledger accuracy in a corporate or manufacturing setting. • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, account reconciliations, and audit support procedures. • Background in standard costing, inventory accounting, and cost analysis within a manufacturing environment. • Ability to analyze variances, prepare budgets or forecasts, and interpret financial results for business stakeholders. • Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals, and tax-related accounting support. • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems such as Syteline or Epicor. • Understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and compliance expectations related to financial operations.
