Accountant
We are looking for a skilled Accountant to join our team in Toronto, Ontario, on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing payroll, bookkeeping, and general accounting tasks to ensure the accurate and efficient handling of financial operations. This position is ideal for an individual with strong expertise in QuickBooks Online and a proven ability to maintain meticulous financial records.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Process and reconcile payroll records using QuickBooks Online, ensuring accuracy and compliance.<br>• Upload payroll data from Excel into QuickBooks and maintain consistent record updates.<br>• Oversee Accounts Payable processes and provide support for Accounts Receivable tasks.<br>• Reconcile bank and credit card statements to ensure financial data integrity.<br>• Maintain and update general ledger entries and prepare supporting schedules.<br>• Prepare and post journal entries, assisting with monthly and year-end closing processes.<br>• Generate routine financial reports and provide insights to management as needed.<br>• Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data and reporting.<br>• Support audit preparations and ensure compliance with accounting standards.<br>• Organize and maintain accurate filing and record-keeping systems for financial documents.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll, bookkeeping, and general accounting.<br>• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and strong familiarity with accounting software systems.<br>• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.<br>• Experience with Accounts Payable, invoice management, and reconciliations.<br>• Knowledge of payroll systems such as ADP or Ceridian.<br>• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.<br>• Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.<br>• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members.
