We are looking for a Accountant - Financial Reporting to join our client's team in Mississauga, Ontario. This long-term contract position is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and detail-oriented individual to contribute to financial reporting, tax compliance, and regulatory adherence within the transportation/logistics industry. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely financial processes while supporting organizational goals. Work model: 5 days in the office, Mississauga Contract: 12 mon + vacation/sick days + health and dental benefits Responsibilities:• Coordinate and execute month-end closing tasks, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.• Manage monthly consumption tax returns and assist with annual corporate tax filings, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.• Oversee lease accounting processes, including classification, measurement, and disclosure in line with IFRS standards.• Compile required disclosures and supporting schedules for quarterly and annual financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.• Monitor changes in accounting standards and tax regulations, implementing updates to policies and procedures as necessary.• Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits, preparing required documentation and responding to inquiries.• Maintain strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.• Utilize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and advanced Excel skills to manage financial data effectively.• Support multi-currency reporting processes and ensure accuracy in financial documentation.• Work closely with cross-functional teams to improve financial operations and reporting efficiencies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. • CPA designation with a minimum of 3 years of post-certification experience. • Proficiency in IFRS and other regulatory frameworks. • Strong skills in account reconciliation, general ledger management, and month-end close processes. • Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central. • Familiarity with multi-currency financial reporting is preferred. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a commitment to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
